Holy cow, it's schoolies week. They started flooding in at the airport today.

For my international friends, schoolies week is the week or two after kids finish their senior year of high school (like spring break but for high school), and if they live on this side of the country, they congregate here in a place called 'Surfers Paradise' which ironically has the shittest surf on the coast. 28,000 of them come and locals go into hiding, liquor stores are on fake ID alert and live bands and movies screen on the beach while volunteers roam about keeping an eye on the crowds and handing out red frogs (lollies)and condoms.
The kids run rampant trying to impress each other, pass out, get tattoos, fall off buildings, spend money, lose their virginities, lie around on the beach with hangovers and then go home. Well, that's if you're doing it properly.
Schoolies is also accompanied by the 'oldies' that turn up who are either overprotective parents, perverts or there to feel young. They are known as toolies.

I went to schoolies week twice. The year before I graduated for a few nights, which was fun. I was never conventional enough to go to my own schoolies but the year after I graduated for one night when I went to see a band. I was sitting on the boardwalk one night, watching the sea when a volunteer came up and sat with me, we had a chat (where ya from, what's your name, he was very into God) and then he asked if he could bless me. I didn't have the heart to tell him I'm atheist so I let him bless me and it was weird but nice of him then I went off to watch my metal band. Interesting things happen at schoolies.

P.S OMG this batch of schoolies were in their first year of primary school when I was a schoolie. *is old*

Hold on a sec...

In a recent interview with Delaina Dixon, Amaury Nolasco says he would definitely be available if Prison Break were to continue!

They haven’t told me yet, but if there is, I’m hoping to be available,” Amaury revealed. But it would have to have Wentworth Miller returning as well.

“He was and is the nucleus and the rock behind that team. Without him, there shouldn’t be any Prison Break,” he declared.

Before you come and gently reason to me why this interestingly worded comment means nothing, please remember that I'm as cynical as the next person but even a few words that are arranged in an interesting way will see me cluctching at straws again. *nods and facepalm*
If only. I bet it's just been transcribed strangely.

Salutations :)
I finished creating another girl, to accompany Papillon from the other week. I really enjoyed the process with her and so I wanted to try another one. I've gone ahead and bought more mixed stamps so I have plenty of colour and country variety and have the next one in mind already (if I can ever get to it!), sort of like a series.
Anyway, here she is.

current song: Prison Break - Tweener

Joy! It's raining today, after 4 months of none at all. It's been a perfect day for art and so I finished this latest piece. The idea came to me like a lightning bolt a couple of weeks back and it was so clear in my head, of course using the wonderful Sarah Wayne Callies as my model. I'm very happy to report that the way it looked in my head has also turned out on paper.

Anyway, that was a great lot of fun as well as challenging so I will probably do more but in the meantime, back to the oil paints! *winks at Linz*
I hope you're all having a great weekend!

Oooh! Okay so the rumors were true.
Wentworth Miller is going to be in Resident Evil: Afterlife, cast as Chris Redfield. Ali Larter is his sister. Filming just started in Toronto so get stalking Linz! I've done some looking around the internets and it seems that the ladies quite like this character, he's a bit awesome.

So...does this mean I'll be the one dragging my 16 year old brother to see it though I flat out refused to see the first a few years back when he begged me? Yes. And does this mean 6ft vinyl banners in the lobby, and movie tie-in action figures? Hope so!
*delight*

I hope he does non-action film next though. I want some thinky Went released for my pleasure.

Woohoo! I just watched Went's first role (that we've seen) since Prison Break. Loved it! A few thoughts under the cut.
